TEACHING PRACTICE
WEEK 1 : Wednesday to Saturday 20/09/2023 to 23/09/2023
INTRODUCTION
Our first phase of teaching practice is at MGHSS, chadayamangalam from 20/09/2023
The Principal of Sabarigiri College of Education, Dr. Meera Raj ma'am alloted six students to MGHSS chadayamangalam Navami and me from Natural Science Department, devi and amrutha form social science department,arathy and devu from mathematics were the selected teachers. All of our teachers in charges, especially Sreedevi teacher provided us with all necessary instructions, guidance and support for completing our teaching manual, selecting activities for models for teaching and preparing teaching aids for teaching practice.
TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK :1
WEDNESDAY TO SATURDAY 20/09/2023 - 23/09/2023.
REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
We the teacher trainees alloted to MGHSS chadayamangalam,reached school right at 9.30 am everyday, then handover our register to headmistress and signed our register and we stayed in our alloted classroom. They welcomed us very gladly. We collected timetable from Harija teacher in the first day itself. The teacher allotted concern class to me was class 9A(Malayalam medium ).I do not get the opportunity to take class in the first day at my concern class .In the first period I went for an substitution class in 9 A. When we got the free time we did the work to be done.Then we returned after signing the register at 3:45pm
In the second day, I had a period on my concern class 9A on 4th period .I took the topic named "parts of respiratory system and its functions " and also I got period in 9C on 5th period also took the same topic "parts of respiratory system and its function's" and in lunch break we served food for the students.Since the periods after that were free for me, I did all the work that needed to be done. Then we returned after signing the register at 3:45pm
Third day was public holiday
The fourth day was started with morning prayer. Even though today was Saturday and yesterday was a holiday, according to yesterday's timetable, today's class was till 12:15pm. There were three periods. Also there was PSC exam here in the afternoon. I had a substitution class on 9.C 2nd period I take class on the topic "movements in Respiraton, inspiration and expiration ". I got free time on third period after that we served food for students At 12 30 we returned from school where we signed the register
CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In this week the students 9A class were taught using of teaching manual from their fourth chapter from part 1of their biology textbook. The topic is"part's of respiratory system and its function " using Teaching aids such as charts, activity cards, and the Students of 9 C were taught two topics "parts of respiratory system and its functions " and movements in Respiraton, inspiration and expiration "
The reflective journals were also done this week.
OVERALL REFLECTION OF CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE
The students of 9A class were given teaching manual oriented activity based classroom experience. One teaching manual of 9A class were completed effectively. 3 charts were prepared for 9A class . Students were given followup activities like assignment
